BEDHEAD GOES GLAM FOR FALL 2013
LOS ANGELES – BedHead Pajamas takes a sexy turn this fall with the
debut of luxurious silk and velvet pieces fit for Hollywood and beyond. BedHead’s silk slips and pajamas in exclusive prints match the linings of luscious velvet robes – a chic look that also feels delicious. “It’s a glamorous indulgence, perfect for snuggling by the fireplace,” says Renee Claire, designer and owner of the independent American manufacturer. A sophisticated black and cream pebble motif screened onto silk twill pairs beautifully with a black velvet robe, while a delicate peach and indigo floral print accents deep sapphire velvet. BedHead’s new silk collection also introduces slinky silk charmeuse leepwear in two prints – an elaborate turquoise, pink and chartreuse paisley and a fetching horse print in caramel and cream – both perfect for gift giving or treating yourself. BedHead’s comfy PJs in signature prints also get flirty this season in charming new silhouettes. Lace trims a swingy knit chemise and a body-skimming tunic with pants, while a fitted cotton jersey tunic and leggings – ideal for the chalet après ski – hugs every curve. Delicate piping edges the slimmer-fit “Tulip” pajama, rounding out a collection that always offers classic boyfriend pajamas and nightshirts. All of BedHead’s gorgeous prints are designed in house by Renee Claire, who is inspired by everything from vintage fashion to contemporary art. The designer has dreamed up 15 ravishing graphics for the fall and holiday seasons: realistic leopard spots, colorful, bold geometrics inspired by Navajo patterns, contemporary abstracts, elegant and vivid florals and intricate paisleys. Claire as also painted fresh editions of her popular Eiffel Tower and fleur-de-lis motifs. BedHead’s exclusive seasonal prints offer options for a range of moods and individual styles, from whimsical to sophisticated. And if warm and snuggly is called for, check out BedHead’s opulent Mongolian cashmere robes. Renee Claire is proud and happy that nearly all of BedHead’s products are cut and sewn in Los Angeles, providing jobs to more than 70 people in the community. “It’s like local food – it’s important to me to watch it flourish and grow in my city,” she says. “In the 16 years that I’ve been making pajamas I’ve watched my employees’ children grow up and graduate. It’s a really fun ride.” BedHead, the go-to sleepwear source for Hollywood stylists, is frequently seen on television shows and movies. Among its luminous fans are Jennifer Aniston, Katherine Heigl, Kate Hudson, Oprah Winfrey, and Cher. The company operates two stores on indie-centric Third Street in Los Angeles and Elizabeth Street in New York. Visit the L.A. flagship to shop the entire collection plus exclusive items made just for BedHead’s hometown store, or simply log on www.bedheadpjs.com. Mindful that women of all figure types want fashionable, well-made pajamas, BedHead offers sizes up to 3X and will make custom pieces for hard-to-fit figures.
Renee Claire discovered the joy of fashion as a child in Ontario, Canada, when sewing with her sisters was a delightful diversion during long cold winters. Enchanted by the California lifestyle, she moved to Los Angeles after college, where she established the Renee Claire label of dresses and coats. The designer switched to sleepwear in 1999 when she sensed a new opportunity, and her first BedHead collection found instant success. Since then Claire has continued to grow and refine her line of glamorous loungewear, which is sold in more than 1,500 boutiques, department stores such as Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, and leading hotels worldwide.
